Repêchage Starter Kits: Which One to Choose

18 Oct 2026 04:30 PM

In short: a Repêchage starter kit gives you a complete routine from one collection in smaller sizes, so you can try it before buying full sizes.

There are six: Hydra Blue for everyday seaweed care, Hydra Dew Pure for dry skin, Hydra Medic for oily, blemish-prone skin, Hydra 4 for sensitive skin, Biolight for dull skin and an uneven-looking tone, and Vita Cura for mature skin. This guide explains what is inside each Repêchage starter kit and how to choose.

Which starter kit is right for you?

  • Your skin feels comfortable most days and you want a good daily routine: Hydra Blue. It is built around Repêchage's seaweed filtrate and suits most skin types.
  • Your skin feels tight, rough or flaky, especially in winter: Hydra Dew Pure.
  • Your skin gets shiny by midday and you get breakouts or blackheads: Hydra Medic.
  • Your skin reacts easily, goes red or stings with new products: Hydra 4.
  • Your main concern is dullness, tan or dark spots: Biolight.
  • Your main concern is the look of fine lines and skin that feels less firm: Vita Cura.
  • Oily T-zone with drier cheeks: there is no starter kit for combination skin, but the three-step T-Zone Balance range covers it. See our T-Zone Balance routine.

If you are unsure, ask for a free skin consultation, and the Repêchage-trained JB Skincare team will suggest a kit.

How to use a starter kit

Each kit follows the same order: cleanse, tone or mist, treat, moisturize. A typical day looks like this:

  1. Morning: cleanser, toner or mist, serum or treatment, moisturizer or day cream, then a broad-spectrum sunscreen as the last step.
  2. Night: cleanser, toner or mist, serum or treatment, then the night cream or moisturizer.
  3. Masks: the Hydra Medic and Hydra 4 kits include a mask for use two or three times a week.
  4. Spot treatment: the Hydra Medic Drying Lotion is dabbed only onto blemishes overnight.

Our routines for each collection go into the detail: Biolight, Vita Cura, Hydra Medic, Hydra 4, Hydra Dew Pure and Hydra Blue.

Why start with a kit

  • Try before you commit. Smaller sizes let you see how your skin responds over a few weeks.
  • A complete routine. The products are designed to be used together, so you do not have to work out the order.
  • Easy to travel with. The small sizes fit a travel bag.
  • A good gift. A starter kit is a simple way to introduce someone to Repêchage.

Tips for starting a new routine

  • Patch test each product on your inner arm or behind the ear for a day before using it on your face.
  • If your skin is sensitive, introduce one product at a time over a week or two.
  • Give the routine several weeks before judging it, and stop any product that stings or causes redness.
  • Keep your sunscreen as the last morning step; none of the starter kits includes a sunscreen.

No, but the T-Zone Balance range (cleanser, toner and moisturizer) is made for combination skin.
