How to use a starter kit

Each kit follows the same order: cleanse, tone or mist, treat, moisturize. A typical day looks like this:

1. Morning: cleanser, toner or mist, serum or treatment, moisturizer or day cream, then a broad-spectrum sunscreen as the last step.
2. Night: cleanser, toner or mist, serum or treatment, then the night cream or moisturizer.
3. Masks: the Hydra Medic and Hydra 4 kits include a mask for use two or three times a week.
4. Spot treatment: the Hydra Medic Drying Lotion is dabbed only onto blemishes overnight.

How it started: the founders of JB Skincare

JB Skincare was founded by a husband-and-wife team, Jyoti Sapra and Bikram Sapra. When Repêchage announced the partnership in April 2012, it described Jyoti as a highly experienced and trained cosmetologist who owned two high-end salons and spas in New Jersey, in the United States. An Indian native, she had used Repêchage in her own treatment rooms for more than ten years, and she saw a need for this caliber of professional skin care in India.

"Repêchage has always consistently given me amazing results, and my clients love the seaweed-based facials," Jyoti said at the time. "We are very excited to bring the highly reputed Repêchage skin care products to India for the first time!"

Bikram Sapra took charge of the new distribution business and went on to lead it as Managing Director. "We are thrilled to be appointed as their exclusive distributor for India," he said in 2012. "Repêchage products are very beneficial in protecting the skin from the harsh climatic conditions in India." At the start, the couple divided their time between New Jersey and India.

From the first day, the plan was bigger than selling products. Repêchage and JB Skincare set out to bring serious professional skin care to India and to give spas, salons and clinics the education and business support to use it well. That idea of education first still shapes how JB Skincare works today.

April 2012: the partnership

Repêchage signs a distribution agreement with J B Skin Care Pvt. Ltd. and appoints it as its exclusive distributor for India.

September 2013: Professional Beauty, New Delhi

JB Skincare shows Repêchage at the Professional Beauty Show in New Delhi. JB Skincare educator Arpita Das demonstrates the Biolight Brightening Miracle Facial with the Glyco-Sea Glycolic Peel for spa and salon professionals. "In India, we are adopting a multi-channel marketing strategy," Bikram Sapra said, describing trade shows as an important part of building the brand.

May 2016: Distributor of the Year

Bikram Sapra represents India in the Parade of Nations at the Repêchage 19th International Conference in New York, alongside distributors from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

July 2017: a brand ambassador for India

Under JB Skincare's guidance, Mrs. India 2017 Kristi Das becomes an official Repêchage brand ambassador in India. At her first event, a bridal studio and training academy in Jalandhar launches two Repêchage signature treatments, the Biolight Miracle Facial and the Hydra Medic Facial.

September 2017: Repêchage Global Success Story and Trends Conference, Mumbai

JB Skincare and Repêchage founder Lydia Sarfati host more than 100 beauty professionals at the St. Regis Hotel in Mumbai to celebrate the India partnership and launch new professional treatments, including the Biolight Luminex Mask and the Triple Action Peptide Mask. The keynote speaker, the Principal Commercial Officer at the American Consulate in Mumbai, thanked Lydia Sarfati and Bikram Sapra for building a successful partnership between the United States and India. How to check that a Repêchage product is genuine

Most problems with imported skin care come from unofficial channels: products that were stored badly, are close to their expiry date, or are not what the label says. These checks help:

1. Know where it came from. Buy on jbskincare.in or from a professional who buys from JB Skincare. If a salon sells you a product, it is fair to ask where they source it.
2. Look for the importer details. In India, imported packaged products have to show the name and address of the importer on the pack. For Repêchage, the importer is JB Skincare. A product with no Indian importer details is worth questioning.
3. Check the MRP, batch and dates. The pack should carry a printed MRP, a batch or lot number and the manufacturing or expiry details. Unopened Repêchage products have a shelf life of three years unless the pack says otherwise.
